Scripts Rescue recreates discount logic — tiered discounts, quantity breaks, BOGO, and shipping discounts — as native Shopify Functions. In plain terms: the app stores no personal data and runs entirely within Shopify.

What the app accesses

• Discount configuration. The rules you set are saved in a metafield on the discount, inside your Shopify store, and read to apply discounts.
• Cart contents at checkout. When a shopper checks out, Shopify runs the app's function with the cart's line items, quantities, prices, and delivery groups so the discount can be calculated. This happens in-memory in Shopify's Functions runtime, for that checkout only.

What the app does not collect

• No customer personal data — no names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or payment details.
• No order history, analytics, tracking, or cookies.
• Nothing is copied to, or stored on, any server outside Shopify.

Storage and third parties

Configuration lives in your Shopify store (a discount metafield). The app has no external database or backend that stores your or your customers' data. One small endpoint (on Cloudflare Workers) exists solely to receive Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks; it verifies authenticity, acknowledges receipt, and stores nothing. The app requests a single Shopify permission, write_discounts.

Data retention and deletion

Because the app stores no personal data outside Shopify, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. When you uninstall the app, its discount and configuration metafields are removed by Shopify. We honor Shopify's data-privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact); as no personal data is stored, these are acknowledged with nothing to return or erase.

Your rights

Merchants and their customers may exercise applicable privacy rights under laws such as GDPR and CPRA. Since the app holds no personal data, such requests are typically satisfied by Shopify's own data controls; contact us if you need assistance.
